From their plasticized, bloody-faced cover art to their arty Arcade Fire-style six-piece, Vailhalen is soo “right now”.
Breathy intros and down-tempo hooks compliment the chorus heavy build of songs like ‘Awake In Flight’ and ‘Angry Mothers’. You can bet they’re fun and look unimpressed live too.
Pop Violencemight be just interesting enough to drag you out to a show, and if they follow in the Arcade Fire’s footsteps, then the live act will be far better than anything they can put together in a studio.
The verdict? It’s worth at least some mild interest.
